With heavy rainfall forecast earlier this year, Botanic Plant Supply, a wholesale nursery supplying trees to landscapers, developers, and councils, needed to prepare for increased run-off across their site. Their existing pump system was becoming unreliable, spare parts were difficult to source, and with a major weather event approaching, the risk of failure was too high to ignore.
The Challenge:
The nursery required a reliable diesel-powered pump solution to collect run-off water from recycle dams where no mains power was available. The system needed to be mobile between multiple dam locations, capable of remote operation, and ready to deploy quickly ahead of forecast rainfall.
The Solution:
Following a recommendation from a Victorian irrigation provider, the business contacted Allflo Pumps & Equipment. After assessing the site requirements, Allflo specified a Remko RS-150 pump coupled to a Perkins 404D-22 diesel engine Ag Package. The skid-mounted design allowed the unit to be easily placed on an existing trailer, providing the mobility the nursery required. The package was fitted with K27 telemetry enabling remote start/stop from up to five mobile phones, and float-controlled auto start/stop allowing unattended operation.
Outcome:
The nursery is now equipped with a robust, mobile and remotely operated pumping solution, ready to respond quickly to heavy rainfall and unexpected site conditions.
