Preventing Trade Waste Pump Downtime in Dairy Processing

A large Australian dairy processor supplying domestic and international markets relies on uninterrupted trade waste pumping to protect production continuity and product integrity.

A large Australian dairy processor supplying domestic and international markets relies on uninterrupted trade waste pumping to protect production continuity and product integrity. After more than ten years of continuous service, these critical Heavy Duty self-priming trade waste pumps required assessment with minimal tolerance for downtime.

The Challenge:
The facility needed to maintain continuous operation while assessing pump condition after years of service.

The Solution:
Because Allflo had originally supplied the pumping equipment, our engineering team was able to respond quickly and with full system knowledge. A site visit was arranged, where an Allflo engineer conducted a structured inspection using a proven diagnostic checklist. A previously supplied backup pump was placed into service, ensuring uninterrupted operation while the primary unit was assessed. Beyond resolving the immediate requirement, Allflo provided on-site training to the customer’s maintenance team.

Outcome:
No unplanned downtime, production continuity maintained, increased in-house maintenance capability, and reduced reliance on reactive callouts. By combining foresight (backup equipment), engineering discipline and practical knowledge transfer, Allflo helped the site move from reactive maintenance to a more self-sufficient operating model.
